The nation's expressways will be toll-free during the Spring Festival holiday between February 9 and 15, 2013, He Jianzhong, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Transport said at a press conference.

"Based on the practice during the National Day holiday, we will take measures to ensure the policy is well implemented," He said on Thursday.

"The ministry will guide the public to choose suitable times and routes for their trip and also print safe driving manuals," He said.

The ministry will work with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the roads and provide accurate information services in case of weather disasters, he said.
