As Beijing Evening News reported, Zhao Ziran, 25, got to know UAV and aerial photography for the first time at a golf game. At that time, his friend asked him, a professional photographer, to film the game. Although he did not fly a UAV by himself, the new perspective of the filming impressed him a lot.

Earlier this year, after 15 days of theoretical and practical training, Zhao got his civilian UAV pilot certificate issued by the CAAC. At that time, less than 400 people got the licenses in the country, according to Zhao.

"80 percent to 90 percent of drone crashes are caused by operator’s mistakes," Zhao said.

A licensed pilot should have the ability to plan the flying route of a UAV, setting parameters such altitude, speed and cruise route on the computer.
